How to Host a Tournament
Cartanians lets anyone run their own tournaments. You manage registration, the bracket, results, and disputes — everything else is taken care of.

Create your tournament
Log in and open the Host dashboard, then hit Create Tournament. Give it a name, pick the game (any game works — it's free-text), set the format, prize pool, entry fee, team cap, registration deadline, and start date. Publish your rules in the rules box: players agree to them when they request to join.

Announce it
Share your tournament page's link in the Cartanians Discord and on your team's own channels. Every tournament gets its own public page where players see the format, prize, deadlines, live bracket, and how to join.

Review join requests
Teams request to join from your tournament page. You'll see every pending request in your host dashboard — approve, reject, or ask for more info (for example, payment proof). Approved teams are locked into the bracket once you generate it. Set the team cap on the tournament so it fills up and closes itself.

Generate the bracket
When you have 2+ approved teams, click Generate Round 1. Cartanians builds the bracket from your approved teams automatically. Use the bracket manager to set scores, pick winners, and advance winners to the next round as matches finish.

Schedule matches
Set a date/time on each match and players get an automatic reminder about an hour before it starts. Keep an eye on the bracket — advance each round once all its matches have winners.

Handle results and disputes
After each match, captains can report a dispute if they disagree with a result. Disputes go straight to your host dashboard (and to Cartanians admins as backup). You can review, correct the score, add a note, and close it. Your decision stands unless an admin overrides.
Host Rules & Responsibilities
- —Be fair — don't approve requests from your own smurf accounts or boil the bracket.
- —Deliver on what you promise. If you advertise a prize, make sure you can actually provide it.
- —Set clear rules before registration opens and enforce them consistently.
- —Keep your tournament's status up to date (upcoming → ongoing → completed).
